Founder & CEO Naren NAGPAL
leads the Management team at ReadiMinds.
Naren has over 29 years of international experience primarily in the Enterprise Software industry. He has successfully built, turned-around and led functional & business operations of international information technology companies of various sizes.
Prior to founding ReadiMinds in year 2000, Naren was with Oracle Corporation as Director - Asia, based in Singapore. Earlier, he was the General Manager - Asia Pacific (Asean and India sub continent) - Eastman Software/Eastman Kodak. Naren was a GOLD employee and member of Dragon High Achiever's Club. Before Eastman Software, Naren was the Regional General Manager - Asia Pacific for a German Software company. He was also involved with their European business development activities.
Naren belongs to the pioneer/start-up group of employees of Wipro Infotech – one of the largest Indian IT Companies today. He has also held management positions with Indian IT houses namely OMC/Tata and FEC/HCL-Hewlett Packard.
Naren has a unique combination of international experience: covering Computer Software and Hardware R&D, Industry Domain Consulting & Business Management. For the first 5 years of his professional career, Naren was involved in designing one of India’s first banking mini-computer systems in Wipro. He also wrote India’s first copy-protection software in 1984.
This unique combination of international experience in Asia, Europe & USA, covering both R&D and business management, has helped Naren establish ReadiMinds as a leading global innovator in financial crime, security, risk & compliance management software space – culminating in ReadiMinds winning Red Herring Global Top 100 Company Award in January, 2009. Award recognizes the 100 "Most Promising" Global Companies driving the Future of Technology. ReadiMinds is also prominently covered in a book titled “Innovative Singapore Companies”.
Naren writes and speaks regularly and is often quoted in the international media. He has also been profiled in Computer World. He has written for and contributed to Computer World, Software Asia, Business Times, IT Times, among others. He has spoken in various international forums on technology and business strategies.
Eastman Software/Eastman Kodak sponsored Naren for Executive Management Development (General Management and Strategic Management) Program by faculty of International Institute for Management Development/IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland. After his Bachelor's degree, Naren did his research work in IIT Delhi towards the Ph.D, but finally decided to join commercial R&D. Naren did his Bachelor of Engineering with Honors in 1981 - with specialization in Computer Engineering and was a merit scholar.
